The Maxatawny Township Office will be closed to the public during regular business hours January 27th through January 31st due to interior renovations funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The Zoning Hearing Meeting on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30 pm will be held as scheduled at the Township Office.
At the request of Township Residents, and due to the high number of stray/free roaming cats in the Township, the Board of Supervisors have agreed to support TRN (trap, neuter, return) in our Municipality. Township Residents can take a stray/free roaming cat to the clinic of their choice, get an invoice showing service provided, submit the invoice to the Township (with proof of residency) and get reimbursed up to $40.00 for each service. Each Resident/Household will be capped at 3 reimbursements in 2025, with a maximum payout of 37 services/reimbursements Township wide for the year. Maxatawny Township Municipal Authority regretfully voted at the December Authority meeting to increase water & sewer rates, effective February 2025. The adjustment is necessary to cover rising costs associated with maintaining infrastructure and providing safe drinking water and run the associated sewer system.
**NEW RATES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
WATER:$60.00 includes first 1000g (up from $54.50) $5.00 per 1000g (up from $3/1000)
SEWER:$38.00 includes first 1000g (up from $36.50) $6.50 per 1000g (no change)
BASE RATE IS $98.00 PLUS USE AFTER 1000G
