Saturday, October 5, 2024 (Rain Date, Sunday, October 6, 2024) - Beginning at 4:00 pm at William Delong Memorial Park

Leaf collection will begin on October 21, 2024 and end on November 21, 2024. The Township will only visit each road once a week, so if you see them come through on a Monday, they will not be back on the road until the following week. Residents are asked to rake the leaves to the curb or gutter if they want the leaves collected. Only leaves at the curb will be collected. Please DO NOT place anything other thean leaves at the curbside or gutter. ALSO - leaf collection WILL NOT occur along Route 222 for safety reasons. Thank you for your cooperation in this effort.

The Maxatawny Township Planning Commission has a member position available. If you would like to be considered for the position, please submit a letter of interest to jwehr@maxatawny.net.

At the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 10, 2024 the Board approved a meeting date change. Moving forward, all Board of Supervisor monthly meetings will be held the second Monday of the month, not the second Wednesday. The first meeting to be held on the new date will be Monday, May 13, 2024 with a start time of 6:30 pm.

Per approved resolution 2024-05, Mulch will now be $20.00 per load when loaded by Township employees. There is still no charge if resident loads mulch themselves.

Park rental fees for 2024 are: Resident - Pavilion & Kitchen - $125.00, Non-Resident - Pavilion & Kitchen - $225.00, Resident Pavilion only - $75.00, Non-Resident - Pavilion only - $125.00. **Forms and check must be from a Township resident for payment of park rental fees.

If you see a street light that is out, please call Met-Ed at 1-800-545-7741. All street lights should contain a pole number. Please try to obtain the pole number before calling Met-Ed as it is essential in resolving the issue. Thanks for your help!

Before starting any work and if you are unsure if work requires a permit, please call the Township Office.

Brush recycling drop site for Maxatawny Township residents ONLY. Township accept any form of brush up to FOUR (4) inches in diameter. WE DO NOT ACCEPT: firewood, bales, bamboo, flowers/plants, concrete/cement blocks, grass clippings, leaves, construction material, large tree stumps.

Maxatawny Township Maxatawny is a name derived from a Native American language purported to mean "Bear's Path Creek". Maxatawny encompasses a total area of 26.3 square miles and is home to approximately 7,181 residents and is served by the Kutztown Area School District. Kutztown University of Pennsylvania lies mostly in the township and straddles the boundary with Kutztown.

Maxatawny Township is recognized for its pastoral farmlands, tranquil woodlands, and gentle rolling hills. We are a thriving community for both families and businesses.
